Cool Forest

4″ x 10″ Watercolor

Something a little different, a watercolor painting today.

I’ve been working with my granddaughter with watercolor painting,

and decided to do something depicting a cool image.

We’ve been having temperatures above 110 with

high humidity as well.

A forest of Aspen is a welcome image.

5″ x 7″ Watercolor on Yupo $50

Sometimes I just want to do something really different.
Watercolor paint on Yupo paper is the answer.

Ocean Breeze

6.5″ x 5″ Watercolor $75

I spent September of 2017 at the beach painting in watercolors,

and find myself returning to gentle images and soft painting strokes.

Ponte Vedra

4″ x 10″ Watercolor, $75 + shipping

Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, is another

gorgeous and favorite beach. I have

quite the collection of sharks’ teeth that

I’ve found there over the years.

As for the painting,

I intentionally wanted to keep this

beachscape simple and on the abstract side.

I like the viewer to participate in the artwork.

Afternoon Delight

4″ x 10″ Watercolor

$75 + shipping

Now that I’m back in the Valley of the Sun

these beach images seem dream-like.

Working on 300 lb. watercolor paper,

my objective was to paint JUST enough, i.e.,

the right strokes,  the right shapes,

the right ratio of water to pigment.

And find a pleasing composition and “feel.”

This one hit it for me.
