I often comment on what a joy making art is for me.
Now, not always is this the case! Yesterday I painted for several hours, and am not happy with anything from that whole session.
But this one…I love it and I loved creating it.
It evolved from an initial painting that looked nothing like this finished product.
There are many layers of traditional oil paint
as well as many layers of pure pigment oil paint on this canvas.
It must go to a good home.

“Moonlit Tree” evokes a Christmas tree
in a snowy countryside, lit by the sky’s full moon.
How did it get decorated? Who else knows it’s there?
Abstracted landscape gives the viewer
endless interpretations, while still knowing
it is indeed a landscape.

Whenever possible during the hot summer months,
we head up north for a respite.
This painting cooled me off just creating it!
