Mountain View

12″ x 12″ Oil

A contemporary landscape with strong linear elements and pastel embellishments,

this small work has a big message:

Don’t be afraid of the mountaintop.

In fact, climb the mountain and revel in the view.

6″ x 6″ Oil

This miniature contemporary landscape

could be representative of so many areas of our country.

With the golden light in the foreground

and the magical colors in the sky,

it reminds me of New Mexico,

the Land of Enchantment.

9″ x 12″ Oil, $200

Inspired by a photo taken by Grant Ferguson in Montana,

this painting came together thoughtfully, stroke by stroke.

I’m pleased with the abstract/representational tension,

as well as the feeling of mist.

This could be anywhere, so I titled it, “Somewhere.”

Alpine Spring

8″ x 10″ Monoprint, $95

Endless fun and unlimited possibilities

abound with monoprinting.

Alpine Spring had a couple of “pulls”

to get the different colors,

painting on the Gelli plate,

and then stamping and brushwork

to add details in foreground.

I’ve been teaching private students

this method of making art,

and everyone loves it.

White-Tipped Mountains

6″x6″ Monoprint, $65

Some people have been asking me,

“What IS a monoprint?”

It is a one-time print made with acrylic paints,

there is only one original and no other prints.

I use high quality print-making paper

and I sign each one usually with unobtrusive initials

so as not to interrupt the art itself.

The art may be framed with or without a mat,

and I use standard sizes, 8″ x 10″ or 6″ x 6″,

so that mats/frames may be standard or custom.

Many of my monoprints are abstract,

all are contemporary in style.
